From June 19 to August 28, you can find two of my oils in the Council for the Arts in Ottawa “Summer Salon“. You can visit the exhibit in the Arts Court at 2 Daly Ave., Ottawa, Ontario.
In May, I participated in “Celebration: Canadian Visual Artists of Slavic Heritage” at Carleton University. I presented one large 40x60 painting, and six smaller ones.
You can view more photos from this event courtesy of fellow Slavic artist Peter Juranka at his web site, and a photo of me by some of my paintings.
This painting, “Première neige, Montréal”, was accepted into the 41st Open National Juried Exhibition of the Society of Canadian Artists, May 13-24, 2009 at the Papermill Gallery, Todmorden Mills Museum, Toronto, Ontario.
I’m part of a group of artists called the “Plein Air Ensemble” that goes on two trips every year. The group is made up of about 30 artists from the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
The trip this year occurred in early April. We went to the Laurentians in Quebec and stayed at “La Centre Touristique de la Petite Rouge.” It is a beautiful area but the weather gave us rain, wind, some snow and very little sun. I worked on 15 paintings on site. In the following 3 weeks, I finished them at my studio, and they are on the web site now.
It is a great place for landscape painting and everyone who went had a fabulous time. There was even some evening entertainment. The artists that went had a lot of painting opportunities and it was a very successful trip.
